Accessibility Statement
Last updated: TBD. To be confirmed before public launch.
Springfield Together is committed to making this website usable for everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, voice control, or any other assistive technology.
What we aim for
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a baseline. That means:
- Color contrast that meets AA on body text and interactive elements.
- Visible keyboard focus on every link, button, and form field.
- Form labels tied to their inputs, and form errors announced clearly.
- Motion that respects the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting. - Real alt text on every photograph (added as photos are loaded in).
- Semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate by heading and landmark.
Known gaps
This site is in active development. Items we are still working on:
- Some images currently use icon placeholders. They will be replaced with real photographs and descriptive alt text.
- The donation widget is configured by a third-party platform; we will document its accessibility level once the platform is selected.
- Spanish-language version is under consideration; until then, page language is English.
If something doesn't work for you
If you run into a barrier on this site (anything from a hard-to-read color to a form you can't submit), please tell us. We treat accessibility issues as bugs and fix them.
