Springfield Together is committed to making this website usable for everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, voice control, or any other assistive technology.

What we aim for

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a baseline. That means:

• Color contrast that meets AA on body text and interactive elements.
• Visible keyboard focus on every link, button, and form field.
• Form labels tied to their inputs, and form errors announced clearly.
• Motion that respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting.
• Real alt text on every photograph (added as photos are loaded in).
• Semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate by heading and landmark.

Known gaps

This site is in active development. Items we are still working on:

• Some images currently use icon placeholders. They will be replaced with real photographs and descriptive alt text.
• The donation widget is configured by a third-party platform; we will document its accessibility level once the platform is selected.
• Spanish-language version is under consideration; until then, page language is English.

If you run into a barrier on this site (anything from a hard-to-read color to a form you can't submit), please tell us. We treat accessibility issues as bugs and fix them.
